class description

Create a beautiful gemstone pendant from start to finish. This class will cover many aspects of fabrication, soldering techniques, metal sculpting, and relief carving as well as setting, finishing and texturing metal. Class sizes are small with a maximum of four students.

Where: All classes are held at my professionally equipped studio in the woods of Gray, Maine. The location is picturesque and rural, a perfect place to focus and learn. You will receive directions in your registration confirmation email. Learn more about me and my studio by clicking here.

When: Class will run Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm each day. Instruction ends at 5pm, with an optional additional hour for student work time. We will break from 12-1pm for lunch. Students are encouraged to bring a lunch to class, as there are few local options.

2025 class dates:

  • July 21st-26th

  • September 15th-19th

  • November 17th-21st

Tuition: $1850 plus $150 kit fee

What to bring: Each student bench is fully equipped, but please bring preferred personal tools from your own studio such as an optivisor, apron, and notebook.

Prerequisite: Prior experience with metalsmithing is required for this class. Details about your experience level will be collected via the registration inquiry form.
